What is a no-code database app?

A no-code database app is a tool built on a no-code platform -- Airtable, Smartsheet, Baserow, SeaTable, or similar -- that connects to a real database for its data. Instead of manually entering records or importing CSV files, the app receives live SQL query results through scheduled automation. Query Streams powers this by running your SQL queries on a cron schedule and pushing the results directly into whichever no-code platform your team uses.

Which databases can I sync to no-code platforms?

Query Streams connects to 10 SQL databases: Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, Microsoft Access, Oracle, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, and DuckDB. It also includes 6 API connectors (Stripe, HubSpot, Shopify, GA4, Google Search Console, ShipStation) that cache data locally and expose it through standard SQL. Any of these sources can be synced to any of the 6 supported destination platforms.

What is the difference between Append and Full Sync mode?

Append mode adds new rows to the destination without modifying existing records -- it is 10 to 150 times faster than Full Sync and ideal for event logs, transaction records, and audit trails. Full Sync mode replaces the entire destination dataset with the latest query results, correcting any drift from manual edits or stale data. Choose Full Sync for dashboards, reference tables, and any view that must always match the database exactly.

How often can I schedule syncs?

Cron schedules support any interval: hourly, daily, weekly, or custom cron expressions. You configure the schedule independently per automation, so a fast-moving inventory feed can sync every hour while a monthly reporting view runs once a day. Each sync runs the SQL query against the live database at the scheduled time and pushes results to the destination.

Can I sync the same query to multiple platforms simultaneously?

Yes. A single saved query can have multiple automation destinations. Sync the same SQL result to Airtable for your sales team, Smartsheet for project management, and Google Sheets for finance -- all on independent schedules and sync modes. Each destination is configured separately in the automation settings .

Do I need to know SQL to use Query Streams automation?

No. Nova AI generates validated, dialect-specific SQL from plain English descriptions. Describe what data you need -- "show me total sales by region for Q1" -- and Nova reads your actual database schema, writes the query, validates it, and runs it. Save the query to your library and attach automation destinations. You can also reuse queries created by teammates without ever seeing the SQL code.

Is my database data secure during sync?

Yes. The Query Streams Network Agent runs inside your network and makes outbound-only connections. No inbound firewall rules, no VPN tunnels, no exposed database ports. Database credentials stay on your server and are never transmitted to the cloud. Data in transit is encrypted, and destination platform API tokens are stored encrypted in the Query Streams portal. The Agent auto-updates and can be deployed on Windows, Linux, or macOS.

Can I also run queries on-demand from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Query Streams is not just an automation tool. The Microsoft Excel add-in and Google Sheets add-on let users select saved queries, adjust any available filters, and run them on-demand for live results. Automation handles the scheduled syncs to no-code platforms; the spreadsheet add-ins handle ad-hoc, interactive access -- including parallel execution of multiple queries into multiple worksheet tabs simultaneously.
